How would I pay back student loans on a BS in physics-salary if I couldn’t make it through medical school? So, I switched to Mechanical Engineering and never looked back!

Starting as an intern at a large medical device company during school, I was offered a full-time position in the company’s sustaining engineering group after graduation. I eventually led the engineering team for their largest product line at the time, supporting 24/7 high-volume manufacturing lines in both the US and England.

I continued in the medical device industry for the next 25 years, working with many technologies and in different capacities. I discovered I’m able to integrate business, technology and people, in a way that teams achieve big goals and people thrive at work.

My teams/departments have collectively reduced costs by tens of millions of dollars since the mid-1990s through targeted business systems improvements, process streamlining, process validations, automation, COGS reductions and design for manufacturing.

A driving sense of curiosity and passion for the medical industry led me to complete a MBA, MS in Mechanical Engineering (specializing in Biomedical Engineering), and now a Doctorate in Business Administration (expected graduation in 2023). I use decades of in-the-trenches experience, experience in the school of hard knocks and formal university training to holistically improve medical device businesses.
